There are two upcoming events I am speaking in the upcoming week: Innovations in Knowledge Organisation and SPC Adriatics.
Innovations in Knowledge Organisation (July 20-22, 2016 Singapore)
Innovations in Knowledge Organisation is an annual conference organised by Straits Knowledge. I am honored to be a speaker as well as an advisory board member for he second year.
This year, I’m doing a half-day workshop with Maish Nichani (Pebbleroad / Ola Search, Singapore) on “Getting Started in Search“. This workshop helps approach enterprise search from a user-centric, holistic way. We will cover:
- Users: how to understand search tasks and outcomes from the user’s point of view
- Content: how to optimise content so that it can serve the search tasks and outcomes
- Context: how to leverage context to improve relevancy and user experience
- Interface: how to optimise the interface so that it matches the search tasks
- Technology: what types of technology to look out for to enable the desired search experience
- Governance: how to continuously improve the search experience and scale it to other search projects
I’m also doing a case study session on “Scoping an Enterprise Search Implementation for a Global Pharmaceutical Company“. In this session, I’m going to introduce a case for a global pharmaceutical organization, which had a long-time challenge with content findability. Getting to the solution has been a multi-step journey. In this session, I’m demonstrating these steps and introducing the conclusions and lessons learned.
SPC Adriatics (May 31 – June 1, 2016 Zagreb, Croatia)
SPC Adriatics is Europe’s biggest community event focusing on SharePoint, Office 365 and Project Server. I’ve been proudly speaking at the event every year since the beginning. This year, I’m back with two sessions:
Five Business Challenges of Hybrid Search in SharePoint 2016 and Office 365: SharePoint 2016 and Office 365 provides a new way of implementing Hybrid Search. While this is obviously one of the most important benefits we can get, it’s worth to stop and answer some business questions before we start implementing. This session is based on real world projects and implementations, where I’ll share my knowledge and experiences – from a business perspective.
10 Steps to be Successful with Enterprise Search: Search is no longer simply about “Search”. While Information Overload is the reality of our lives, and everyone talks about Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT), findability gets more and more critical. The “old school” Search Center experience is outdated – we need something better, something more, something that is more efficient, more user-friendly and more helpful. Recognizing these challenges is the first step of a long journey. In this session, I’m introducing proven steps toward being successful with Search, as well as common mistakes which you can avoid if you’re well prepared.
Are you joining to any of these events? Please let me know, and say a Hi! there. I’m looking forward to seeing you soon!
